This fall season has been absolutely incredible. I’ve been so blessed with the best couples. This past weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to photograph Laura & Kirk’s El Chorro Wedding. The day was filled with amazing weather, laughter, happy tears and so much joy! Laura and Kirk were surrounded by so much love and support from their family and friends.
Laura and I were introduced by an amazing mutual friend of ours, Melanie. Our daughters were in the same Kindergarten class and used to be our neighbors. Laura and Melanie work together, and when she heard Laura was looking for a wedding photographer gave her my info. When Laura contacted me, I was so excited to hear about her wedding plans at El Chorro and her vision for the day. We set up a time to meet for coffee to get to know each other better. Laura and Kirk are such a sweet couple and I could tell right away, that we would get along great. They told me about their journey, how they met, and when they got engaged. They showed me pictures of their beloved dog Drake, and I left feeling like they were a dream couple.
I always love when couples opt for an engagement session. Not only is it an amazing opportunity for gorgeous photos, it’s also a great practice run for the big day. During their engagement session it was great to see how they interact as a couple and how they are in front of the camera. These two, although they thought they would need lots of direction for their “awkwardness”, did amazing. I love making my couples feel confident in front of the camera, it’s one of the biggest challenges as a photographer, however Laura and Kirk
made it so easy!!
As you look through my favorites from their wedding, you can see the amazing story of the day unfold. There were so many incredible moments throughout their day. One of my favorite moments, being their first look. I am of course biased when it comes to offering wedding day advice, but can I just say a pre-ceremony first looks are absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!? This moment always produces some of my all-time favorite photos. Check out this blog post to see why I think the first look is a must!! To see more photos of this beautiful couple you can check out their El Chorro engagement session.
It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know you both and I hope that you will keep in touch. I would love to know what’s going on, and what the future has in store for you. You are a beautiful couple and I can already tell that you will do amazing things together. Continue to put each other first, always take care of each other and look for ways to strengthen your relationship. Marriage is definitely not easy, but together you can conquer anything. I hope you cherish these photos and look back on them often. I love you guys and wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.
